Recap: Cavalier Clash Boys Tournament

A nice little HS Tournament post-holiday is just what the weight management doctors ordered.

Unfortunately, five teams had a little too much turkey and had to pull out last minute. Coupled with an array of injuries, weight issues and that nasty flu bug going around a lot of teams had incomplete rosters and not all their aces in place.

But there still was a lot of great wrestling and a few matches with ranking implications. As far as the team race went Cypress Ranch and Klein Oaks battled for 2nd and 3rd with Klein narrowly taking second by just 5 points.

Each team put 3 wrestlers in the finals with some good backside scoring. But it was the host team with 15 wrestlers in the finals and all their big guns in play, taking first by 216 pts.

Here is the breakdown of the championships:

106

NR Christopher Stiles Fr. (Cypress Ranch)
Fall 4:28
NR Christian Aranda So. (Klein Oaks)

The Prince of Persistence Stiles was in control of the match from the get-go with a take down and near fall but giving it right back on two penalty points for full nelson. But in the end Stiles perseveres and gets the reverse in the 3rd to the pinfall and his first HS Tournament victory Congratulations
