“Wrestler of the Week” spotlights the remarkable achievements of a young athlete, showcasing their dedication, skill, and perseverance in the demanding sport of wrestling. Whether they are a boy or girl, competing in youth leagues, high school championships, or college tournaments, this segment highlights their journey and accomplishments. Through a blend of technical prowess and unwavering spirit, these wrestlers exemplify the essence of the sport, inspiring others with their hard work, strategic thinking, and the grit required to excel on the mat. Their stories are not just about victories and medals, but also about the lessons learned, challenges overcome, and the personal growth experienced through the lens of wrestling. To spread the love, once a wrestler has won wrestler of the week, we’ll not enter them in voting after.

WEEK I:
Briton Johnson Clear Lake High School (Boys)
2nd Place at the Morton Ranch Stampede

WEEK II: Hailey Delgado, Eastwood Middle/ Nxt Lvl Wrestling Academy (Girls)
Hailey Delgado won Edge of Texas in the girls and boys boy division and was awarded OW in the girls division. Also, Hailey represented Team USA in the women’s freestyle competition at the U15 Pan American Championships in Panama City, Panama, winning gold! She was one of four Americans, who won gold medals.

WEEK III:
Isabel Saumell, Huntsville (Girls)
Went 4-0 at Keller High School only wrestling for 1:19 all day

WEEK IV:
Carter McLaughlin, Whitehouse HS (Boys)
1st place at Eagles Nest Tourney in Prosper. Pinned a state ranked wrestler in the finales match. 12-0 season record so far

WEEK V:
Rylei Davis, Plano Senior High (Girls)

2nd place at Allen Outlaw

WEEK VI:
Tessa Urias, Lubbock Coronado (Girls
)
Tessa competed this past week at the 23rd annual ladies horn classic, placing first place going 4-0

WEEK VII:
Hope Gleghorn, Canyon (Girls)

Hope went undefeated this weekend at State Duals, bumping up a weight class in 2 duals and pinned the # 17 ranked girl in a must win match to send her team to the State Dual finals. Then in the Finals she pinned the #6 ranked girl. Hope helped lead her team to a 2nd Place finish at State Duals.

WEEK VIII:
Gage Herrin, Melissa (Boys)

Gage beat the number 1 kid from Arlington Martin last Thursday. Gage is a freshman at a 5A school and took down a monster from 6A
