Full Circle: Rockwall’s Jarrett Stoner Returns to Columbia to Wrestle for Missouri Tigers

There is a saying and a popular hashtag that revolves around the University of Missouri’s athletic program.

It’s short and simple: #MizzouMade 

Jarrett Stoner graduated from Rockwall High School in May — months after winning a Class 6A title in wrestling his senior year. 

Stoner will head to Columbia, Missouri soon to start his college wrestling career for the Missouri Tigers. Summer school classes start in June.

In a way, he is returning home to a town he lived in from 2005-15. He was born at the hospital in Columbia and his youth days were filled wrestling at the same venue the college team worked out in as well.

“I’m excited to head back up there,” said Stoner, who won the 190-pound title this past February in Cypress. “I knew people in that area and it was the best program I had an offer from. They are consistently a top-five program. It is exciting to be a part of something like that.”

A solid football recruit too, Stoner had to pick what sport he would play at the next level. Northern Illinois and the University of Arkansas-Little Rock showed interest in Stoner wrestling in addition to MU.
