Obviously the Russians still very competitive at the veterans division and do not take loss well, as this one punched coach after the match!! ?Coach handled the Poor sportsmanship well ,

After being ahead 2–0,  coach said he made one mistake and got in a trap arm gut and that was it. It wasn’t just to anyone though, this guy was an Olympic medalist and a guy you can’t afford to make a mistake with.
But congratulations to coach making the freestyle finals and bringing home the silver!!

Porter, Petrosyan secure freestyle gold for U.S. on second day of Veterans World

WALBRZYCH, Poland – George Porter and Petros Petrosyan led the U.S. effort on the second day of the freestyle Veterans World Championships by winning gold medals.

A fifth place finisher at last year’s Veterans Worlds, Porter navigated his was to the top of the Div. C 130 kg podium with three dominant wins on the day. Porter outscored his three opponents by a 27-0 margin, including an 11-0 win over Juri Stadnikov of Germany in the championship match.

Petrosyan displayed similar dominance with four total wins and two pins on his road to gold in the Div. D 85 kg bracket. In the championship bout, Petrosyan pinned Japan’s Hidemitsu Yugawa. The American was a bronze medalist at this event last year.

Two-time Veterans World champion James Kasser found himself with a silver at 63 kg in Div. D. He went 1-1 on the day, and fell to Boris Savva of Moldova in the gold medal match, 10-0. Kasser now owns four Veterans World medals in men’s freestyle since 2013.

A pair of two-time Veterans World medalists, Stephen Horton and Victor Aybar, also claimed silver medals for the U.S. on Saturday. Horton won two matches at 69 kg in Div. C prior to losing by fall to Roberto Estevez Alvarez of Spain in the finals. Aybar went 1-1 in a three-man round-robin bracket at 58 kg in Div. D to finish in second place.

Rounding out the list of U.S. medalists on the day is Joseph Cattan, who finished with a bronze at 97 kg in Div. D.

The U.S. bumped its total medal count for the freestyle Veterans World Championships to 16 with one day of competition remaining. To this point, eight Americans have struck gold, four have secured silver and four have won bronze.

The freestyle Veterans World Championships will conclude on Sunday at 4 a.m. (ET) with action in the Div. A and Div. G brackets.
