Ashley Lekas, NAIA National Champ

The College Women National Championship Tournaments went down this weekend.  The NCWWC National Championships went down in Cedar Rapids Iowa at the Alliant Energy Power House and the NAIA National Championships went down at the University of Jamestown in North Dakota.

The NCWWC currently includes NCAA programs from the Division I, II and III levels. Athletes qualified for the 2024 NCWWC through six Regional Qualifiers. NAIA schools are colleges and universities that are part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics basically all other colleges other than Division I, II, & III.

Texas Wesleyan University placed 6th out of 37 teams competing in the NAIA.

It was Ashley Lekas of William Penn University a Plano West High School alumni claiming the only National Championship for Texas.  Jasmine Howard and Camille Fournier of Texas Wesleyan were both finalist but both lost narrow decisions and had to settle for 2nd place.
