Early season rankings for all 6A boy wrestlers have been reviewed and posted. Rankings are based on last season state results and early season results, where available. Keep in mind that (a) some athletes are still playing football and have not yet competed, (b) several top finishers have changed weight class (up and down) and (c) there are a number of wrestlers whose results have not been reported to wrestlingtexas.com. As major tournament results are posted, rankings will be updated. Please feel free to email us with additional results or local wrestlers to watch.

Here is a brief summary of the top-ranked wrestlers:
106-Jordan Strmiska of Lake Travis starts out on top based on being the highest returning state placer at that weight, Isaiah Calderon was ranked at 106lb last year and has won a tournament already this season. The rest of the wrestlers have all placed 1st or 2nd in a tournament this season.
113-Noah Yeamans from Allen takes top spot here based on being the state runner up last year at 106, with Nathan Rankin of Plano East following up with a 3rd place finish at 106 last year.
120-State Champ @ 106 Isaiah Delgado of Eastwood takes #1 here, Timmy Thompson of LC Clear Lake follows after placing 2nd last year at this weight, Christian Moreno of Austin Bowie takes the 3rd spot with a 4th place finish @ 113 and Allen’s Alonzo Herrera ranks 4th finishing last year 4th at this weight. Herrera and Moreno could go either way, really.
126-Ryan Chavez of Eastwood keeps his #1 spot, State champion at this weight last year. I’m not holding an injury default at the Arlington Martin Tournament against him, Jack Skudarcrzy from Westlake, the 120 state champ takes the 2nd spot only because #1 is Chavez’s to lose. Ty-Rae Carter of Westside brings in #3 and Logan Brown takes #4 as they placed 2 & 3 at 113 last year at state. This looks to be one of the toughest weight classes this season.
132– Gregory Quintilian of San Antonio Johnson is the highest state placer at this weight placing 5th @ 126, followed by Conner Manderfeld from Arlington Martin who placed 6th, albeit injury defaulted. Adam Maesta of McKinney Boyd place 5th at 113.
138-Camden Fontenot of Clear Lake, state champ at 132, comes in at #1 followed by Blaine Martinez of Keller Central, last year’s 132lb runner up to Fontenot (by 1 pt). Daniel Manibog of Katy who placed 5th at 120 takes the 3rd spot
145– Taylor Parks of Arlington Bowie placed 3rd last year at 132 and takes the #1 spot.
152-Juwan Robinson of Allen moves up a weight to take the #1 spot here, Riley Jacobs of Vandegrift takes the 2nd spot, both are state runner ups from last year, Jacobs was 5A last year, the UIL re alignment has Vandegrift in 6A this year.
160-Braedan Redlin of Allen, 2-time state champ moved up from 152lb, the only returning state placer at this weight.
170-Allen’s Evan Hackett, returning state champ to 170 retains his #1 position, followed by Noah Vasquez of El Paso Eastwood who,was runner up last year at 152lb. Anderson Salisbury of Westlake took 3rd at state last year at 160
182-Henry Rossiter of Houston Cy Woods, a 4th place finisher last year @ 182 takes the top spot, Adam Lindberg of Southlake Carroll finished 6th at 170 last year to fill the 2nd spot.
195– Mark Inglehart, returning State champ @ 195 for Allen keeps his #1 spot, Matt Dean of Kingwood stays at #2. With a number of wrestlers still playing football, not much has been changed at the 195lb class.
220– Henry Willoughby of Cibolo Steele is still in football but is a returning state champ so the #1 spot is his until he gets taken down. A very close second is Nico Manzonelli of Allen, last year’s state runner up at 285lb and preseason Nationals 5th place finisher at 220, so he gets the 2nd ranked spot. Colin McCoy of McKinney Boyd was ranked at 195 so he slides in behind the 220lb ranked wrestlers.
285-Desmon Williams of Rockwall Heath was the only returning State placer with Heath moving up to 6A from 5A, Williams took 4th last year, and takes the #1 ranking spot this year. Most other wrestlers were either state qualifiers last year, or have won tournaments this year.
