2023/2024 Texas Wrestling Alignment Changes

With Wrestling season in full swing now with tournament teams all but set for the year, duals set, we also like every year have movement in the school division along with new teams and unfortunately teams that disappeared.  Below we go through 5A and 6A and list the differences, moves, and the additions.

The big news here is that the City of Brownsville in the deep south, a border town added 6 high schools with 4 in 5A and 2 in 6A.  We will see if they can impact like the Mesquite ISD did last year with having a state placer and qualifiers in their first year.

5A added 16 new wrestling programs while losing only 6 programs.  6A
