Texas Gold’s Journey
Texas Gold started their campaign strong with a decisive 48-25 victory over North Dakota in the quarterfinals. Key performances included Luke Burgar’s 8-0 technical fall over Maddox Slater and Daniel Acosta’s pin against Tate Sailer in just 1:40. The momentum continued with Carter Nekvapil securing a 9-0 technical fall over Tanner Menge, and Quintraylon Johnson pinning Trevor Chapman in a mere 23 seconds. Despite a few setbacks, Texas Gold’s early lead was unassailable.
In the semifinals, Texas Gold faced Idaho in a challenging bout, ultimately falling 45-28. Although Luke Burgar and Quintraylon Johnson managed to secure victories with a pin and a technical fall respectively, Idaho’s dominance in the remaining matches was too much for Texas Gold to overcome.
The consolation semifinals saw Texas Gold up against Oklahoma Outlaws Red. Despite commendable efforts from Daniel Acosta, Carter Nekvapil, and Quintraylon Johnson, who each secured technical falls, Oklahoma Outlaws Red edged out Texas Gold with a 42-30 victory.
