Jasmine Howard is Mortgage X-Change Wrestler of the Week

Jasmine Howard from Azle High School is Mortgage X-Change Wrestler of the Week

Howard has wrestled for three years and won a championship as a sophomore from the state tournament last year in the 5A 95lb division. Her freshman year she placed second at state losing by decision to Jaclyn McNichols who is the only person to ever beat her in her high school wrestling career. She not only went undefeated all of the 2018- 2019 season but didn’t have anyone score a single point against her all season and was named Most Outstanding Wrestler for 5A girls at state. After state she went on to All-American at Virginia Beach Nationals.
Ā Academically she has maintained her place as number one in her class throughout highschool, is a member of the Peer Assistance Leadership program, a member of the National Honor Society, and volunteers in the community as often as she is able to. This past July she traveled to Washington D.C. to represent Azle at the National Youth Leadership Conference.
Over the summer she has put in time on the mats daily with up to five practices a day at F3 State Champ Camp with Johnny Bedford, Parker County Punisher with Erik Sands, and Genesis Jiu Jitsu with Erik Sands. She has an average of 15 practices a week including wrestling, jiu jitsu, muay thai, and MMA. She gives back to youth wrestling by helping coach younger kids and assisting with private lessons.
Congratulations to Jasmine Howard
