Which 6A Wrestlers will leave the Cy Fair ISD Berry Center this weekend with an undefeated season record against fellow UIL opponents?
In this article we will spotlight the wrestlers with UIL undefeated records and then those who have losses, but not to fellow UIL opponents.
First off are the Boys who are sporting a W-L record that ends with a ZERO, as in not losing a match this season.
Starting it off is 2nd ranked Dallas Jesuit’s Kingston Stephens at 113 lbs. His 40-0 record and his 2025 bronze medal at 106 lbs. earned him the second seed, only behind Top-ranked Dylan Ota, the 2X 106 lb. State champion. The top two seeds met once in the semifinals of last season’s CFISD Tournament, which Ota won with a 13-2 major decision.
The next undefeated record will be found at 126 lbs. with 2nd Seed Collin Tingley, who is a junior with Cypress Woods HS. If he makes it to the final’s match, he more than likely will challenge last year’s 9th grade champion and #1 ranked Izayiah Chavez of Allen.
In the 144 lb. weight class there are two undefeated wrestlers, but neither of them is Logan Milsaps, the #1 Ranked, Top-Seeded returning 150 lb. Champ, who is also a 3X State Placer. Those two undefeated wrestlers are #2 seed Anthony Simpson of Arlington Lamar, and #3 seed Pablo Aguilar of Temple. Simpson, last year’s Silver Medal winner at 144 lbs. is ranked #4 in the weight class this year, and Aguilar is ranked #6.
Micah McCaskill of San Antonio Churchill is the only undefeated wrestler in the 150 lb. bracket. He is ranked #4 and holds the fourth seed in the bracket.
If the seeds hold until the Semis, he will face 3X State placer and returning 144 lb. champion, Keagan Sieracki, which should be an excellent, high-energy match.
At 165 lbs. Keith Remington of League City Clear Creek is 37-0. He is the Top seed, but only the #2 ranked wrestler. He earned that top seed due to the new seeding criteria and his 6th place finish in this weight class in 2025.
The 175 lb. weight class is highlighted by Jared Remington, who is another wrestler who is undefeated (42-0) and ranked #1 by Wrestling Texas, but does not have the top seed. That belongs to Carter Nekvapil of Allen on the strength of his gold medal at 165 lbs. last year and his bronze medal at 165 lbs. in 2024. A final match between these two would be a highlight of the tournament.
The last wrestler in 6A who holds an unscathed record is 190 lb. Sean Perez of Humble. He comes into the tournament at 48-0. In the new seeding system, priority is given on the place that a wrestler comes in in the same weight class the previous year. Pasquale Maurici of Austin Westlake finished 3rd at 190 lbs. last year, and Perez came in 3rd at 175 lbs. giving Maurici the edge in the seeding, even though Perez gave Maurici his only loss of the season in the finals of the CFISD tourney.
With the other two top seeds, Cody Savage of Rockwall Heath and Wyatt Davis of Irving MacArthur, each having only 1 loss this year, the semifinals will be on fire. All four top seeds are in the top four rankings, with Savage coming in as #1, followed by Perez, Maurici, and then Davis.
Now there are some wrestlers whose losses have only come to out-of-state wrestlers. They have chosen to keep those in their season’s records as motivation to work harder to pursue the State championship. Some of those wrestlers that I have been able to determine that fit into this category are listed below:
120 lbs. Oliver Pulliam 31-2, Allen, both losses coming at the Reno Tournament of Champions.
126 lbs. Izayiah Chavez 26-4, Allen, losses coming in Oklahoma, Reno, and Ironman (2).
157 lbs. Dominic Wilson 46-2, Rockwall, both losses to the same wrestler at the Kansas City Stampede.
157 lbs. Jonathan Steel Meyers 43-2, Allen, both losses at the Ironman.
175 lbs. Carter Nekvapil 31-8, Allen, 1 in Sand Springs, 1 in Cushing Tournament, 3 at Reno, 2 at Ironman, and 1 at another Oklahoma tournament.
190 lbs. Cody Savage 35-1, Rockwall, Only loss at Southern Oklahoma Invitational.
190 lbs. Wyatt Davis 36-1, Irving MacArthur, only loss was to an Oklahoma wrestler.
215 lbs. Aiden Cooley 44-1, Allen, loss in the Ironman.
As the saying goes for the eight wrestlers named above, “What doesn’t break you, makes you stronger”. These wrestlers, despite having losses out of state, still have the confidence and strength of knowing that no one in the State of Texas has yet to beat them this year.
I apologize in advance if I left anyone off of this list.
As far as the 6A girls, undefeated wrestlers include:
105 lbs. Emily Beltran of Katy, 45-0. Beltran is the top seed/top ranked wrestler in the state, as well as the returning 107 lb. Champion.
110 lbs. Hailey Delgado of El Paso Eastwood, 47-0. Delgado is not only the top-ranked, first seed, and returning 100 lb. champ, she is ranked #3 in the U.S. at 105.
115 lbs. Nevada Daniels of Katy Cinco Ranch, 47-0. Daniels is also top ranked and top seeded in the tournament.
125 lbs. Lucy Clarno of Dripping Springs, 29-0, is ranked #1 in the weight class.
130 lbs. Lianna Benitez of San Antonio Churchill, 43-0, is , but is only ranked #5 by WrestlingTx, but only because this is one very stacked bracket.
190 lbs. Wema Laktari of Lewis Flower Mound, 50-0, ranked #1 and top seed.
235 lbs. Maliana Heimuli of Euless Trinity, 40-0, Ranked #1 and top seed.
Girls who have no losses to Texas opponents, only to out-of-state wrestlers:
115 lbs. Megan Dowd of Allen, 26-2, both losses at the Reno Tournament of Champions. Fourth Seed and ranked #4.
135 lbs. Landri Von Gonten of College Park, 38-1, loss at KC Stampede Seeded first and ranked #1 in Texas, and #1 at 140 lbs. in the U.S. by FloWrestling.
170 lbs. Aisha Williams Bautista of Lewisville Flower Mound, 60-1, only loss at KC Stampede. Seeded 4th in the tournament due to not placing last season, but ranked #1 in the weight class.
There it is. How many of these undefeated 6A wrestlers will keep that clean slate? How many of those wrestlers who only have out-of-state losses will put that first loss on those undefeated opponents. Time will tell, but it will be a blast watching!
