2024 Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals & Boys National Recruiting Showcase at the Iowa Events Center (Hyvee Hall) in Des Moines, IA with Texas having 352 registered wrestlers, gets on its way this Friday.
Every year Texas has more and more entries and this time is no exception Texas had 312 total wrestlers last year. The high school boys increased from 178-186, while the high school girls had the biggest increase from 68 last year to 98 this year. The National Recruiting Showcase for the high school boys increased from 11 last year to 21 this year. The youth wrestlersā grade 1-8 for the boys registered is 48 while the young girls are at 15 register for 3rd-8th grade.
The largest weight classes have over 125 wrestlers. The 138lb weight class for the 11/12 grade division has 113 wrestlers with 13 Texas wrestlers, while the 106lb weight class in the 9/10th grade division has 126 registered and 124 registered at 113lbs. The largest Texas registered division and weight is the 150lb weight in the 11/12 division with 18. 144lbs have 15 registered. 138lbs in the 9/10 division has 11 Texas wrestlers out of 74 total.
The girls brackets will average 45-50 total wrestlers with 120lbs being the largest bracket with 56 registered followed by 130lbs with 52.
