In a field of 36 teams, a lot of teams got in the action of winning championships on Saturday at the Mike McCready Memorial Invitational at Colleyville Heritage High School.

Of the first nine finals wrestled that afternoon, nine different schools had a champion and 11 different schools were represented out of the 14 champs.

Midlothian had three champions, while Frisco Wakeland had two champions. Midlothian won the team title with 183 1/2 points to easily take first place.

The next three teams were bunched closely together. Dallas Highland Park took second with 141, while Haltom City took third at 136. Right behind the team was one of the teams that traveled the further – Cedar Park with 134 points.

Ten of the 14 champions are undefeated this season and both of the Wakeland champions now have 16 wins on the young season.

Midlothian got championships from Josh Ramirez (120), Eli Biermann (144) and Karson Tompkins (190)….
