Rockwall won a pair of championships at the Texas Outlaw tournament, which wrapped up in Allen.

Both of the wins for the Yellowjackets would be considered marquee wins.

At 150 pounds junior Dominic Wilson picked up a win over Kiowa Vines from Thompson, Ala., 6-1.

Wilson, ranked No. 3 in Texas, secured a win over the Class 7A 138-pound state champion from last year.

Wilson posted a 7-0 record and beat No. 2-ranked Logan Millsaps of The Woodlands College Park in the semifinals, 7-6.

The other title for Rockwall came from freshman Hunter Gordon, who is 19-1 on the year now.

Gordon posted a 7-1 win over Allen’s Jair Jackson-Bey in a match of No. 1 vs. No. 2 in the state at 138.

Gordon mixed in pins and tech falls before his last two matches. He beat Alabama all-stater Jordan Weltzin of Thompson, 4-0, in the semifinals.

Katy & The Woodlands win 3

After Allen won the team title, two Houston-area schools were second and third in the standing.

College Park was the runner-up with 549 1/2 points and Katy Cinco Ranch placed third with 424 points.

Most Outstanding Wrestler Caio Aron won the 132-pound bracket for College Park. The California Baptist signee improved to 28-0 with a 12-0 major decision over Enrique Uribe of Frisco Centennial in the finals. He had one pin and five tech or major decisions — outscoring foes 77-2.

Cinco Ranch senior Vincent Echavarry won the 157-pound title in an upset.

Ranked No. 4 heading into the tournament, Echavarry pinned No. 1-ranked Dario Petrucelli of Rockwall by a pin in 5:08 in the finals.

Katy, which was ninth in the team standings, had a champion in Shane Trotter.

in the finals, Trotter won by pin 25 seconds into the third, overcoming a 1-0 deficit in the 285-pound finals against Cruz Young from Midwest City Carl Albert.

Last year at this event, Trotter was ninth and lost to Young, 4-2, in OT.

Trotter, ranked No. 7, upended No. 5-ranked Devin Quantz of New Braunfels Canyon by a 10-5 decision in the semifinals.

Out-of-state champs

There were three champions that weren’t from Texas — with 10 schools from outside of the Lone Star State.

At 106 pounds, Catoosa’s Mason Burnham won with a win over Allen’s Gianni Diaz. Burnham was a state champion in Class 4A last year in Oklahoma.

Adam Hageman from Shawnee Mission Northwest in Kansas won the 175-pound title by a pin against Colton Rollwitz from Katy Cinco Ranch. Hageman was a runner-up in his state finals last year.

Danon Walker from Bossier City, La., won the 215-pound bracket. An all-stater last year, Walker cruised to a 19-4 tech fall win against Gavin Rich from Blanchard.
