  • The Katy Mayde Creek Rams wrestling team has 69 wrestlers led by Coach Josh Hayden.
  • Only 9 seniors and 19 juniors are leading the team this year, with notable losses from the graduating class.
  • Junior Stephanie Lopez is a key returnee for the Rams, with a strong record and notable achievements in previous seasons.
  • Camila Rodriguez is another leader aiming to qualify for state after a strong performance last season.
  • The team is preparing for the upcoming season with former JV wrestlers aiming to compete at the varsity level.

The Katy Mayde Creek Rams head into the 2025-2026 wrestling season with a total of 69 wrestlers in the practice room. The Rams are led by Coach Josh Hayden, who I believe is entering his 2nd year as the team’s coach.

Unfortunately for this year’s Rams team, there are only 9 seniors and 19 juniors to lead the way. Two key losses from last year’s graduating class are Emma Dutcher, 40-6, and Isaiah Goff, 37-8.

Coach Hayden has been busy preparing his young team for the upcoming thirteen weeks. Notable returnees for the Rams include junior Stephanie Lopez (42-13). In the 2024-25 season, Lopez was a District 9 runner-up, a Region 3 runner-up, and earned 6th place at the State championship at 114 lbs. Lopez lost both her District and Region finals’ matches to Nevada Daniels of Katy Cinco Ranch. Lopez was also a region qualifier during her 9th grade season, earning a spot as a state alternate with a 5th place finish. She holds a cumulative two-year record of 66-32.
