In a battle of state powers, Allen’s girls wrestling program came out on top in a triangular meet on Tuesday at the Lowery Freshmen Center.
Allen, ranked No. 2 in the latest WrestlingTexas list, knocked off No. 3 The Woodlands College Park, 53-30 and then beat defending 5A champion, Lubbock-Cooper, 59-22, in a dual that started at 11 a.m. thanks to the schools being on Thanksgiving break.
The last of the three duals was Allen vs. College Park, which returned to the Dallas area after being at the Arlington Reece’s Warriors Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Allen 145-pounder wrestler Chisom Dijeh said the Eagles were excited for the dual against a College Park team that was a runner-up last year in Class 6A.
After winning state titles four years in a row last year, the Eagles didn’t get on the podium in 2025.
Then, former Allen star Jasmine Robinson showed up. The motivation provided an added boost to wrestle well in front of the four-time Allen state champion and arguably one of the best UIL girls wrestlers ever.

Of the matches contested, Allen and College Park each won five.
The marquee matchup came at 140 pounds, where defending state champions clashed.
It took only 46 seconds to decide a winner, with College Park’s Landri Von Content, a 6A champion at 138 last year, beating Allen’s Kailin Sebert, a champ at 126.
“It was definitely highly anticipated,” said Von Gonten said. “You could definitely tell there was pressure.”
Allen got wins from Megan Dowd (115), A’Aniyah Jordan (135), Dijeh (145) and Tibarek Abiey (170) by pins and Siena Lal (130) won by an 18-0 tech fall.
Allen got 30 of its points from forfeits by College Park at 100, 105, 125 and 235.
All five of College Park’s wins were by pins and three came in less than a minute.
Giovanna Dos Santos (155) won in 31 seconds and Jayauna Ennis (190) needed only 16 seconds.
Kylie Smith (120) stayed undefeated on the year with a pair of pins on the day for the Cavaliers.
Allen 59, Lubbock-Cooper 22
The Eagles had 10 wins against, but four of those were forfeits by the Pirates.
The only wrestlers to win in this dual that won in the College Park one were Abiey, who had one of the forfeit wins, and Dowd, who won by pin.
Sebert wrestled at 135 in this dual and won by a pin. Laila Abarca (105), Alejandra Moreno (110), Sophie Samler (190) and Channing Travis (100).
College Park 48, Lubbock-Cooper 28
The Cavaliers had eight wins against the Pirates, with Von Gonten, Ennis, Smith and Guiana Rios winning by falls, as they did against Allen.
L-C and College Park each had four open weights, giving up 18 points — as neither team had a 235-pounder.
The Pirates got two wins by Anayeh Gonzales (115) and Derona Young (155) in the duals. Gonzales won by a 9-0 major decision against College Park and by a pin against Allen.
Young won by pin against College Park and a 15-2 major decision against Allen.
Lubbock-Cooper coach Joseph Rios talked about some of the struggles this year for a team that has won back-to-back Class 5A titles.
There were some roster changes due to graduation and others made by Rios, who wants to see more work from his team outside of the practice room. Going against powers like College Park and Allen was perhaps an eye-opener needed for this squad.
