Allen girls swept Southlake Carroll

Allen swept Southlake Carroll in a dual on Wednesday and it started with a 66-6 win by the Lady Eagles. 

Ranked No. 1 in Class 6A, the Lady Eagles won six of the seven matches that were wrestled.

No. 2-ranked Grace Romans secured a pin against Southlake’s Grace Jose (120) in 3:56 for one two three by ranked wrestlers in matches. No. 1-ranked Kailin Sebert (126) needed 50 seconds to pin Addison Savich.

No. 5-ranked Juliana Lefort (185) needed 47 seconds to dispatch Carroll’s Adia Singhanig in a 185-pound match.

The other four head-to-head wins for Allen were by pins. Those were from Faith Washington (107), Auni DeLeon (114),  and Trinity Soares (235).

Channing Travis, Rdiat Abiey, Chisom Dijeh and Aniah Alustiza won by forfeits for Allen.

Southlake’s lone win came from Cora Hayes at 132 pounds. The returning state qualifier pinned Megan Dowd in 5:16.
