The 2019 Junior National Duals Completed

Team Texas only had one team this year at the Junior Freestyle/Greco Roman National Duals held in Tulsa Oklahoma and the Freestyle tournament concluded this weekend.  Team Texas got in 8 freestyle duals preparing those that completed for the National Championships in Fargo next month.  The Team finished 20th out of the 35 teams completing with our neighbors to the north and host state Oklahoma winning the Freestyle National Dual over Illinois.
Dominic Chavez had the best showing in the 2 tournaments going 12-1 with 9 tech falls and 3 pins.   Daniel Manibog went 6-1 in Freestyle only along with Carson Laughery who other then his one loss didn’t give up a single point in the freestyle tournament goin 10-0 all 6 matches.
Other stand outs were Preston Decker who might of had a better record had it not been for injuries.  Deandre Rucker, Rylan Bonds, and Ryan Johnson had a good tournament as well.

Deandre Rucker tied for 4th place in “Most Pins Least Time” with 4 @ 7:15
Carson Laughery placed 10th in “Most Tech Falls Least Time” with 6 @ 3:03
Carson Laughery tied for 6th in “Fastest Tech Fall”  @ 13 seconds. Really should of been tied for 1st as the first 5 placers show 0:00 for the time which is normally a scorer screw-up.
Jared Gallegos and Scott Killian tied for 9th with “Most Single Match Points” @ 21
The above stats where only the Texas boys in the top 10 out of the top 100 shown
