100 lbs: Cassandra Medrano(6A-#1 at 107) of Edinburg Shines 

  • 1st Place Match: Cassandra Medrano (Edinburg) secured an undefeated record of 26-0, demonstrating her prowess by defeating Kailyn Bridges (5A-#9) (Edinburg Vela) with a decisive fall in 3 minutes and 21 seconds. Medrano’s relentless pursuit of victory showcased her dedication and skill on the wrestling mat. 
  • 3rd Place Match: Arleth D. Rodriguez (McAllen Memorial) displayed resilience, clinching the 3rd place position in a thrilling Tiebreaker-1 (TB-1) victory against Britney Martinez (La Joya) with a score of 4-3. Rodriguez’s strategic maneuvers and tenacity were evident throughout the match.

107 lbs: Ava Aragon of McAllen Dominates 

  • 1st Place Match: Ava Aragon (5A-#17 at 114)(McAllen) showcased her dominance in the 107 lbs category, securing a victory with a fall in 5 minutes and 58 seconds over Yaretzi Hernandez (Edinburg). Aragon’s strategic approach and agility played a crucial role in her success.
