Wrestler of the Week Greg Wilson of UCO/Keller Central

Greg Wilson. Wrestlingtexas wrestler of the week.  Wrestling for University of Central Oklahoma has been making news on the National scene,  Greg  who is ranked 4th in the country at 197 pounds, is on a 13-match win streak.   Wilson, a junior from Keller, Texas, has pinned his last three opponents and has nine bonus-point wins in his last 13 matches.   Including helping #9 ranked UCO upset #2 Nebraska Kearny. UCO for the first time ever is 15-0 in dual competition

2015-16: Went 3-2 at the Lindenwood Open last season, his only competition of the year.

2013-15 (OU):  Redshirted his first year with the Sooners and then saw considerable action at 184 in 2013-14 and again in the first semester last year before transferring.

High School:  Three-time state champion at Central High School, finishing with a spectacular 180-6 career record … Also a USA Wrestling national champion and was the 14th-ranked high school 195-pounder by Amateur Wrestling News … Four-time member of Texas national team.

Personal:  Education major looking to become a coach … Enjoys fishing as a hobby … Names “Rocky” as his favorite sports movie … Birthdate is Nov. 6, 1993.
