Week #5 in Texas

Week #5 start is a little slower than last week’s 17 tournament weekend with only 13 in state tournaments.  The #1 team Arlington Martin will be traveling to Oklahoma this weekend for the Mid-America Nationals. We saw this week that Allen wrestling has climbed into the national rankings to #25 with their win at Edgerton Invite in Kansas last weekend thus making them edge out College Park and Katy to take the #2 spot in the team rankings.  The #3 & #4 teams College Park and Katy will be at the Houston Dual Championships.  The Houston Duals isn’t listed on Trackwrestling or Flo but that’s where a lot of the Houston area teams will be this weekend heard it’s a 16-team dual.  Angelo Ferrari will be competing in the Walsh Ironman this weekend for Melissa.

Mid America Nationals

Stride Bank Center in Enid Oklahoma is where this tournament is going down.  Texas has 5 teams competing in this 35-team national tournament.  Southlake Carroll, Northwest Nelson, Liberty Christian, Houston Westside, and the #1 Texas Team Arlington Martin.  There isn’t any top 50 teams listed in this field as everyone is going to the Ironman. However this is my no means a weak tournament with the Kansas champs Maize and Olathe schools competing along with Collinsville, Mustang from Oklahoma and 1 team from Utah.
