Ty-Rae Carter of Texas A&M (Houston Westside) in a repeat finals appearance of last year here at the NCWA Mens Championships against Zach Blevins of the University of Toledo had a different outcome this year. Carter takes the win by major decision 11-3 to win the NCWA National Championship at the 149 pound weight class.
Carter came into the tournament the 2nd seed because of the finals loss last year and won by fall his first 2 matches. The quarter finals match was Carter’s closest match where he won by a decision of 9-3 against the 7th seed. Carter majored the 3 seed in the semi finals by 11-3 and beating the 1 seed in the finals by the same score.
