Tucker Ribman Making More News at St Marks

Tucker Ribman, Commits to Harvard and Makes a Big Splash at Prep Slams and Texas Wrestling

A true renaissance man, Tucker Ribman is a champion on the wrestling mat as well as the classroom and the community.  A returning Texas State Prep School Champion, Mr. Ribman has committed to Harvard University to wrestle starting in the fall of 2018

He is undefeated in Texas Wrestling at (15-0), and recently beat Adam Maestas, Texas’s UIL DIV VI-A top 138lbs wrestler.  Not only does Tucker wrestle, but he is on the honor roll at St. Mark’s School of Texas (Niche Rated it the #1 All-Boy School in America for 2018; https://www.niche.com/k12/st-marks-school-of-texas-dallas-tx/rankings/) with a 4.11 GPA.  He is on the National Spanish Honor Society, an accomplished photographer, hunter, sky diver, as well as, an active member of community service.  He is an ambassador to the St. Mark’s community by speaking to and providing tours for prospective students, parents, and guests.  Moreover, Tucker is a 3rd Degree Black Belt with the Kukkiwon (Taekwondo).

Harvard is a perfect fit for this extraordinary young man, and for him to continue wrestling at the NCAA DIV I level is a dream come true.  Tucker states, “Harvard is the perfect balance of academics and athletics, and I believe I can be successful at both.  During my college visit, I really connected with the family atmosphere on the wrestling team.”

“I look forward to spending my first two years in the structured curriculum.  I appreciate that I do not have to commit to a concentration of study until my sophomore year.  As far as wrestling, I am excited to be part of the Crimson and want to be a good teammate and contribute in any way I can to help the team succeed (Tucker Ribman).”

Mr. Ribman capped off 2017 with a Fourth Place title at the Prep Slams in Atlanta, Georgia held on 29 and 30 December 2017 (National Wrestling Record: 20-2).  His first loss was to Gray Hart (St. Christopher’s, Virginia) the eventual winner and University of Virginia commit.  His second loss was during the consolation finals, where he fell short, losing one to zero to Cole Hauser of St. Pauls in Covington, Louisiana and the 2017 State Champion.  The 138lbs weight class was the only weight class which had the seeding of the top six wrestlers, come to fruition.

“Tucker Ribman is a man for all seasons.  He is always willing to help anyone at any time.  I have been coaching and working with Tucker this year, and I am always impressed with his work ethic, personality, and care for his classmates, teammates, and anyone he is around.  His wrestling is peaking at the right time.  He is light on his feet, fast with his shots, and can mix up his opponents because his wrestling acumen is at a Division I level, and he is a high school senior.  This Marksmen is just starting his life accolades; I look forward to seeing Tucker as a man who will help our community and country,” says Coach Reyno Arredondo, first year wrestling coach at St. Mark’s School of Texas.

This past weekend, Tucker went undefeated at the Prep State Duals at Bishop Lynch High School and helped his team place 8th.  This week, Mr. Ribman gets ready for the 2nd Annual Bowie High School Tournament, then Prep State’s, followed by the Southwest Preparatory Conference Championship, and finally the Prep School National’s at Lehigh, Pennsylvania.
