Trinity Christian Academy Wins Prep State Championships

TCA takes the State Prep title in Houston when competing in the Texas State Wrestling Championships where the top 3 wrestlers will advance on to the the National Prep championships later this month in Pennsylvania.   TCA narrowly edged out Liberty Christian School 186.5 to 182.00.  St Johns School came in 3rd with 169.00 team points.

The Prep State tournament in a unique arrangement between TAPPS and the SPC to create a qualifying event for Prep Nationals. TAPPS is a group of Texas only Christian & Catholic schools. The SPC is a group of non-sectarian college prep schools which includes schools from Oklahoma, including one which competes in wrestling—Casady. The top 3 from this tournament qualify for prep Nationals. That tournament takes place on February 23-24 at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, and features such powerhouses as Blair Academy & Wyoming Seminary. Following Prep State, the SPC holds its own Conference Championship & TAPPs will hold its annual State Tournament in 2 weeks at McKinney Christian.
