The Maverick Stampede: Girls Recap

The Women, who never disappoint got it on with some epic battles at the Merrill Center. A lot of Blood, Sweat and Tears went into these matches which where a joy to watch.

Again, that dang flu bug left a couple of key players out, but none the less there wasn’t a shortage a great matches over the two-day event.

Let’s start out with the team competition. Only 10 points separated 2nd-6th place, Corpus Christie Carrol and Cibolo Steele tied at 5th with 126 pts. Katy Maybe Creek taking 4th with 130 pts, Richmond Foster at 3rd with 131 pts., Friendswood at 2nd with 136 pts.,

But with 153.5 pts. Cinco Ranch pulls out the team victory. Great job by all and here is the breakdown of the Championship matches

100lbs Weight Class

#13 Christine Tran (Jersey Village) Jr. Dec 9-6 #2-5 Sydney Perez (College Station A&M) Sr.

Back and forth throughout the match, but Tran was always able to end the period with an escape which made the difference. Both women looked great throughout the tournament pinning everything in sight.
