I know that they’re will be lots of Texas wrestlers attending the NCAA Tournament in Pittsburg in 2 weeks but the ones below will actually be wrestling in the tournament baring any injuries or illness, and of course they gotta make weight.   Monday and Andrews make their first NCAA appearance joining the veterans Mueller, Reenan, and Nickal.

125-Jack Mueller of Virginia(TCA) punches his ticket to the NCAA championships by becoming the ACC champ making his 3rd appearance to the big show. The NCAA allocation for this weight was 2.

157-Quincy Monday of Princton(Arlington Martin)will make his first D1-NCAA championship appearance by placing 3rd in the EIWA.  The NCAA allocated 6 wrestlers at this weight for the big dance.

184-Nick Reenan of North Carolina State(Highland Park/Wyoming Sem) will be making his 2nd appearance to the NCAA Championships by placing 3rd at the ACC tournament.  The NCAA allocations for this weight was 5 for the ACC.

197-Bo Nickal of Penn State(Allen) The D1-NCAA most dominate wrestler this season wins his 3rd BIG 10 championship to keep his Hodge Trophy consideration in full swing.  This will be Nickal’s 4th D1-NCAA appearance as he goes for his 4th finals appearance and 3rd consecutive National Championship.  The BIG 10 was allocated 5 wrestlers to the championship tournament.

285-Brian Andrews of Wyoming  (Grapevine) takes a 4th place finish at the BIG 12 tournament and punches his ticket to his first D1-NCAA Championship tournament.  The BIG 12 was allocated 6 wrestlers for the NCAA championships.

Below are the Texas wrestlers who came up short on making the big tournament but with Nickal the only senior dropping out of the complete list of D1 wrestlers here.  Texas has the potential to have 10 plus wrestlers next season to make the NCAA tournament as Kennedy Monday of North Carolina , Quintin Perez of Campbell,  Collin Lawler of North Carolina State,  Juwan Robinson of Old Dominion, Braedan Redlin of Ohio state,  Nico Manzenelli of Army, Logan Brown of Army, and maybe more redshirted this season am sure I missed some wrestlers.  Plus next years college freshman Trent Dooley of Arkansas , Daniel Manibog of Oklahoma State , and  Aidan Conner of Princton who are nationally ranked could make the scene making it 20 plus wrestlers.  20 Texas wrestlers making their appearance at the NCAA tournament would be an awesome advancement for Texas Wrestling and could maybe???? get one of the D1 colleges in Texas to jump up and start a program.  One could always hope.

Texas Wrestlers who came up short.

125-Gregory Coapstick of South Dakota State University (Frisco Centennial)-DNP
133-Jack Skudlarczyk of University of Northern Iowa (Austin Westlake) almost takes the last qualifying spot at 133 from the BIG 12 placing 6th as the NCAA allocations to the big dance was 5 from the BIG 12 at this weight.
133-Isaiah Delgado of Utah Valley University (El Paso Eastwood)-DNP
157 Jordan Robison of University of Northern Colorado (Frisco Liberty)-DNP
174-James Wujeck of West Virginia University (Prosper)-DNP
174-Kyle Kretzer of The Citadel (Clear Springs) placed 4th in the SoCON but the NCAA allocation was only top 2 for his weight class so he would need voted in to make the tournament.
