Texas Winners of the Dave Shultz and Tricia Saunders Awards Announced

Today the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Announced the Dave Schultz and Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Awards.

The Tricia Saunders award for Texas went to Avery Ashley of Lovejoy High School. She’s signed with Oklahoma City University. Ashley won the 110-pound state title in 5A this past season with a 51-0 record on the season. She was the 102-pound State Champion last season.

The Dave Schultz award was given to Kenneth Hendrickson. Hendrickson wrestled for Creekview High School in Carrollton and has signed with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

Hendrickson was the 5A State Champion this season at 120 going undefeated with a 42-0 record.
