Texas Prep All Americans

This weekend, over 40 wrestlers from 13 Texas Prep schools traveled to Lehigh University to compete in the 84th Annual National Prep Wrestling Championships.  This year’s tournament had over 120 schools and approximately 450 wrestlers participating.  The top 5 teams were Blair Academy (NJ), Wyoming Seminary (PA), Mount Saint Joseph (PA), Malvern Prep (PA) and Baylor School (TN).  This was Blair’s 40th National Prep title.  The top 3 Texas schools were Liberty Christian School (16th), St. John’s School Houston (T-23rd) and St. Thomas Catholic (T-31st).  Congratulations to all the Texas wrestlers who competed at this year’s tournament.  And, special congratulations to the following eight (8) individual wrestlers who qualified as Prep All-Americans.

132 – Jose Zamora (7th place) – Kennedale Fellowship Academy (Senior)

145 – Braeden Baller (7th Place) – Liberty Christian School (Sophomore)

145 – Alex Jacobs (8th place) – St. Thomas Catholic (Senior)

152 – Hunter Balk (6th place) – Trinity Christian Academy (Senior)

170 – Rex Collins (7th place) – McKinney Christian Academy (Senior)

220 – Harrison Fernelius (5th place) – St. John’s School Houston (Senior)

285 – Roman Lewis (7th place) – St. John’s School Houston (Senior)
