There will be a number of Texas wrestlers competing in a couple of NCAA holiday tournaments this weekend. The 55th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands tournament, hosted by Northwestern University starts Friday morning Dec 29, in Chicago. A couple of Texas wrestlers have a tough draw to start their day:
157lb Oliver Pierce (Allen HS) of Arizona State will take on #1 seed Michael Kemerer of Iowa in the first round.
165lb Braxton Cody (Houston Episcopal) of Northwestern starts his day against 5th seed Jon Schleifer of Princeton.
In the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga on Jan 1-2, we anticipate participation by the following Texas boys:
125-Thayer Atkins-Duke
133- Jack Mueller-Virginia
133-Isaac Jimenez -Air Force
165-Quentin Perez-Campbell
184-Bo Nickal- Penn State
184-Nick Reenan-NC State
285-Blake Andrews -Oklahoma State
