The 2018 Walsh Jesuit IronMan Wrestling Tournament in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio is an invite tournament and one of if not the toughest high school folk style tournament in the country. This makes the 2nd consecutive year that Allen Wrestling Team will compete and will try to better their 2017 13th place finish. Arlington Martin also this year had their lower weights invited. The tournament will start Friday morning and conclude Saturday afternoon.
Braxton Brown @ 106 of Allen is the first Texan to get a #1 seed in this tournament with Trent Dooley @ 138 getting seeded as well @ 16. Arlington Martin has 2 seeds as well. Dominic Chavez @ 120 gets a 8 seed and Eric Two Lance @ 160 gets a 13 seed.
Allen as a team has a national ranking of #18 and Arlington Martin has a national ranking of #48 making it the first time that 2 Texas teams have made the national rankings. Allen off its 2nd place finish at the Gardner Invite in Kansas over Broken Arrow could climb the team rankings when they come out this week.
The Tournament has 93 teams invited some are full teams, some are partial teams. 27 are ranked nationally on the top 50.
