In 1-6A El Paso Montwood and Euless Trinity both bring their whole team to regionals and El Paso Franklin will be bringing 9. I think it will be the 2 El Paso teams battling for 2nd as Euless Trinity women should win this team championship to go with their district championship.
In 2-6A the region is loaded. Coppell brings their whole team and has already beaten Prosper in the team race at district. I think the Houston teams of Conroe, Oak Ridge, and Klein Oak although bring 1 less wrestler are at the top. My pick is Oak Ridge.
In 3-6A you have 3 power house girls teams and with Katy Tompkins bringing 9 women, Cypress Park and Morton Ranch with 8 are loaded. My pick here is Morton Ranch.
In 4-6A 2 teams are bringing everyone. Cibolo Steele and Edinburg North are bringing the whole team with San Antonio Madison bringing 9. but I believe Cibolo Steele will prove to be to much for everyone and takes this region out right.
In 1-5A El Paso Eastwood brings the whole team. Again like the boys Coach Vasquez has the women firing on all cylinders. BUT hold on, the 4x ,yes I said the 4x former Caprock UIL State Champ Coach Hilary Cordero has her girls firing on all cylinders as well. I give the edge to the Caprock ladies here, barely.
In 2-5A the Lancaster ladies bring their whole team to compete with Frisco Independence and Ft Worth Benbrook whom only bring 9 each. Only, lol.. I gotta give the edge to Independence here for a couple of reasons. 1) home gym advantage. 2) their district had every Frisco school in it and Frisco top ranked women are scattered throughout. So to bring 9 to regionals in a loaded district speaks for itself.
In 3-5A it will be a toss up. Houston Milby, and Huntsville both bring 9 women. Carrollton RL Turner and College Station both bring 8. All teams have their champion but I thank RL Turner has more so I pick Carrollton RL Turner to take this region.
In 4-5A Leander Glenn is bringing 9 women with Corpus Christi King bringing 8. This could very well be another pickem. Im going with Leander Glenn. Look for the under dog to bring it in this region though.
