While the team sending the most wrestlers to the regional tournament doesn’t in no means guarantee a regional win, it sure helps. Below I pick who I think should pull out the team win.
In 6A-1 Arlington Martin on paper should win but Southlake, Franklin, Montwood, and Pebble Hills are all right there. this will depend on match ups and bonus points IMO. Am going with Franklin here only because I think they will match Martin with champs in 3 each and the other teams will average out the rest.
In 6A-2 Allen and Rockwall both are sending their whole team. Can Rockwall pull the upset over Allen like in football? College Park or Vandegrift are right in the mix but Allen should take it all again.
In 6A-3 This is another pretty even tournament with the top amount of wrestlers present. The top teams with 11 wrestlers, lower then the other regions could mean weaker districts or it could me the match ups where great at the districts. However I think Katy pulls this team race out. They just have more high powered guns.
In 6A-4 Los Fresn0s is bringing their whole team and every one else at the top is bringing 12. Los Fresnos and La Joya Lincoln havent been tested with the other teams up north and with New Braunfels losing Tyler Ramirez I gotta go with Lake Travis for the win here.
In 5A-1 Canyon Randall and El Paso Eastwood are bringing the most wrestlers. I think what Coach Vasquez has done with Eastwood this year is amazing plus has home field advantage. He is bringing back the glory their used to Eastwood High School. However I think the experience that Randall is bringing should edge out Eastwood for the team Champions.
In 5A-2 talk about a mixture. Burleson Centennial is the top dog with wrestlers but 4 other teams are right there. If the 220 for Midlothian wasn’t out I would pick them in a land slide as I believe they would have the most champions. However Centennial is balanced across the board. Wilson, Northwest and Grapevine will all have their individual champs but I think in a close race Burleson Centennial pulls out the team victory.
In 5A-3 College Station A & M Consolidated has the most coming to the show with Friendswood, Willis and Lovejoy right there. Going with ranked wrestlers I think Lovejoy pulls this team race out.
In 5A-4 probably the most loaded region in 5A for a team race as 7 teams will be battling for the title. Dripping Spring brought their whole team and 4 others brought all but 1. This team race could go any which way. Having to pick one I would go with Dripping Springs only because I think they have wrestled a tougher schedule than the others, but not by much. Gonna be real close.
