Tamyra Mensah-Stock Makes Olympic Team

Texas has an Olympian.

World Champion Tamyra Mensah-Stock has made her first Olympic team.

Young phenom Kennedy Blades had a historic run through the 68 KG bracket where a best of three matchup with Mensah-Stock awaited.

Mensah-Stock, the defending World Champion, took both matches over Blades winning the first 12-4 and the second 8-1 giving her the 68 KG Olympic team spot. She gave this very emotional interview following the win.

Tamyra is from Katy, Texas and wrestled in College at Wayland Baptist University. Other Texans, Bo Nickal, AJ Ferrari, and Xochit Mota-Pettis all competed here as well.

Nickal made the finals before losing his best of three with fellow Nittany Lion Wrestling Club team member David Taylor while Mota-Pettis made the semifinals of the tournament but was unable to place.
