The Spartan Mat Club out of DFW traveled to the Reno Nationals this past weekend in Tulsa Oklahoma with 8 of their top women 9 in all, girls 9U, 12U, 15U, and 18U and came away with the overall Womens team title having 6 champs and 2 runner ups. A couple of the girls were in two different weight classes. They came in 1st place in the 18U Womens team race as well. Camille Fournier, Hannah Francis, Lexie Basham, and Samara Chavez all won Championships with Francis and Basham winning twice. Basham at 142lb and the 142-155 weight class in the 18U and Francis at 185-240 weight class and 240lb in the 18U. Carmin Allred and Mary Ellen Lafferty placed 2nd. With Mackenzie Harris placing 3rd in the girls 9U.
Lexie Basham also won MOW for the tournament as well.
NB Elite out of New Braunsfels won the 15U women’s team race with 4 placers, Sage Benca being the lone champion. Avengeline Valdez placed 4th, and Elizabeth Strickland place 2nd in two weight classes. all in the 15U.
Next Level Wrestling Club out of El Paso placed 3rd in the Womens Overall with 6 placers. Alexis Montes was the lone champ here with Ashleigh Denny, Hailey Delgado, and Yazeneth Madero all placed 2nd in their age groups. Ashleigh Denny (in 2 weight classes) and Nayeli Ortiz both placed 4th.
Boneyard Wrestling Academy out of Houston had 3 placers in all with Brittany Corbishley and Jayden Bazemore. Corbishley place 1st and 2nd in 2 different weights with Bazemore taking 2nd also.
Hammerhead Wrestling Club out of DFW had a lone champ with Kayla Tanimoto.
Azle Wrestling Club out of DFW had a 3rd place finisher in Zaylyn Woods.
Besttrained Wrestling Club out of DFW had a 3rd place finisher also with Jasmine Robinson.
Wesley Wrestling Club out of Amarillo area had a 4th place finisher in Deja Salazar.
