On Thursday, January 31st, Conroe High School hosted the District 8 Championships for a one-day tournament. Participating teams from the Conroe ISD included Caney Creek, The Woodlands, College Park, Oak Ridge, Grand Oaks, Conroe, and one school from outside of Conroe, Willis. Within those seven teams there were twenty-one wrestlers listed on the most recent TX Wrestling rankings.
As can be seen in the team results below, College Park had complete control of the District. They ended up with six individual champions, and a total of twelve Region qualifiers advancing to next week. Willis ends up in second with three champions, and eight wrestlers moving on. The other champions come from The Woodlands and Grand Oaks both with two, and Oak Ridge with one.

106 lbs: The #4 ranked and top seed Brandon Patillo of College Park, cruised through the bracket and secured the title with a TF 1.5 2:51 (15-0) win over #6 Robert Quinn of Grand Oaks.

113 lbs: When #1 ranked Andrew Huerta was unable to participate in the tournament, #13 ranked Derrick Collins of Oak Ridge moved up to the top seed. Collins met #18 Grady Burson of Willis in the finals and was able to get a pin the second period at 2:38. Two of Collinsā three losses this come at the capable hands of Aodhan Jimenez of Killeen Ellison.
