Region 4-5A Boys Wrestling Tournament

In the highly competitive Region 4-5A boys wrestling tournament, athletes showcased their skill and determination across various weight classes. Notable emphasis was placed on the intense 1st, 3rd, and 5th place matches, providing spectators with thrilling displays of talent and resilience. 

In the 106-weight class, the 1st place match witnessed a gripping showdown between Nathan Reilly of Cedar Park and Isaiah Deleon of Corpus Christi King, with Reilly emerging victorious in a decisive fall at 3:12. The 3rd place match featured Hudson Chilton of Comal Smithson Valley securing a convincing win over Riley Lopez of Corpus Christi Ray, executing a fall at 4:50. Meanwhile, Christian Aguirre of Mission Sharyland Pioneer claimed the 5th place match over Esteban Vela of Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial with a victory by forfeit. 

Moving on to the 113-weight class, Aiden Baker of Mission Sharyland clinched the 1st place match against Ethan Cobarrubias of Comal Pieper with a commanding major decision of 11-2. In the 3rd place match, Luis Vela of Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial dominated Jonathan Pacheco of San Antonio Wagner with a major decision of 14-3. Trenton Niece of Leander Glenn secured the 5th place match by defeating Kristoff Vazquez of Vanguard Academy Rembrandt-Pharr with a fall at 2:11. 

The 120-weight class saw George Rodriguez of Uvalde claiming the 1st place match over Sebastian Contreras of Mission Sharyland Pioneer with a victory by forfeit. Luis Nieto of Vanguard Academy Rembrandt-Pharr secured the 3rd place match by winning against Max Brandt of Cedar Park with a victory by forfeit. Max Brandt later claimed the 4th place match over Maxwell Tyerar of Comal Smithson Valley with a victory by forfeit. Maxwell Tyerar, in turn, secured the 5th place match by defeating Matthew Castillo of Mission Sharyland with a fall at 4:49. 

Continuing through the weight classes, the 126-weight class featured a hard-fought 1st place match between Aidan Rodriguez of Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial and Rogelio Perez of Uvalde. Rodriguez emerged victorious with a close decision of 11-8. In the 3rd place match, Tucker Craft of Leander secured a win over Griffin Deitch of Comal Pieper with a decision of 8-6. Griffin Deitch, in the 4th place match, claimed victory over Rodrigo Nuncio of La Joya Palmview, who had to withdraw.

Moving on to the 132-weight class, the 1st place match witnessed a closely contested battle between Tristan Luna of Comal Smithson Valley and Carlos Rodriguez of Uvalde, with Luna securing the win with a narrow decision of 4-3. Aiden Valdovinos of Rio Grande City claimed the 3rd place match with a victory over Gavin Wood of Cedar Park by a major decision of 11-3. Gavin Wood secured the 4th place match over Nehemiah Washington of Edinburg Vela, who had to withdraw. 

In the 138-weight class, Bryce Palmer of Comal Smithson Valley dominated the 1st place match against Nicholas Torres of Mission Sharyland, securing the victory with a fall at 2:58. The 3rd place match witnessed Tristan Fay of Cedar Park defeating Cash Kartaltepe of San Antonio Wagner with a technical fall of 17-2 at 4:31. Owen Mietus of Leander Rouse claimed the 5th place match by defeating Diego Carmona of Edinburg Vela with a fall at 0:30. 

Sergiel Arroyo of McAllen emerged victorious in the 144-weight class, securing the 1st place match against Quinn Barrera of Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial with a decision of 3-2. Absalon Valencia of Comal Smithson Valley claimed the 3rd place
