Recap: 2022 Warrior Invitational (Girls)

Another great start to the season.  A lot of good scraps and very close matches all around.  Only 6 pts separated 3rd-5th place.

With Keller Timberland take 5th, South Grand Prairie 4th and Burleson taking 3rd.  Arlington Martin put 8 in the medal round and 4 in the finals.  But it wasn’t enough to outlast Euless Trinity who had 10 in the medal round and 3 in the finals.

Let’s break down the championship finals, match-by-match:

100 Championship Match

#9-107 Nadia Ryan (Frisco Reedy) Jr.
Over MD 14-0
Jisele Masumoto (Keller Timber Creek) Sr.

Ryan take town defense was just too much for Masumoto as no matter what she tried she just couldn’t get any offense going.

107 Championship Match

#1 Arianna Rodriguez (SGP) Sr.
Over MD 11-0
#12-114 Angela Perez (Arlington Houston) So.

Rodriguez top game was on point with 2 big 3pt near falls in the 2nd to seal the deal.

114 Championship Match

#7 Meadow Hernandez (Euless Trinity) Sr.
Over Fall 1:35
Brianna Sanchez (AM) Jr.

Hernandez just overpowered her opponent with a quick shot and takedown to the pin in the opening 10 seconds
