Random List of First's & Notables After the UIL State Tournament

Every year after the UIL State Tournament we discover a bunch of “first’s” below is just some of the ones that were discovered and am sure their is allot more.

Rylan Bonds-First ever 6A State Champion in wrestling at Prosper High School (only the 3rd State Champion in wrestling history at Prosper).  It should be noted that Rylan tore multiple ligaments in his knee in late November in a match against Kaleb Thompkins and had only returned to the mat the week before the district tournament.
Rylan, upon his return, finished the year 11-1 and only allowed 19 points in the 12 matches.  He beat 3 straight region winners in a row to win state.  His opponents at State finished the year with a combined  record of 171-19.
Langston Mayrant is New Waverly’s first state champion at 182.  Possibly the first 5A champion from a 3A school? Also the way the bracket shook out was pretty amazing from his angle.  After placing 3rd at state last year, this year he took second at district and third at regionals.  The way the bracket worked out at state this year he avenged the regional loss in the state semis and in the finals at state (which was a replay of the district final) he avenged his loss at district.
