It’s that time of year again for the USA Preseason Nationals. This tournament has always been the biggest participation tournament for preseason Texas wrestlers. As of today, 130 Texas wrestlers are registered for the sold out event of 1500 wrestlers. This year, Texas has some of the top wrestlers attending with 4 State Champions and a whole list of State placers and All Americans along with wrestlers looking to make their mark. This folkstyle tournament is separated by Cadets and Juniors on Saturday and Middle School Boys with all Girls on Sunday
Below will be a highlighted per weight notables for Saturday.
100-Cadets
Landon Brown is the only 10th grader in the bunch with Braxton Brown, Carson Laughery, Christopher Martinez, and Zarek Hernandez all 9th graders from all 4 regions of the State. Brown was the only placer last year in the middle school division.
106-Cadets
Stand out here is All American and World Placer Parker Decker, Noah Gochberg a freshman was a placer last year in middle school division.
113-Cadets
Preston Decker and Jackson Bourne both state placers lead the pack here with freshman Jaren Powell making the scene.
120-Cadets
Alex Maestas is the veteran here.
