Pre-Turkey Day Tango Recap: Tascosa High School

A small all girls tournament the day before Thanksgiving.  With all are High Schools but with several match-up with 5a State Rankings implication.  There was no team score available on Track but it seemed to be a Amarillo and Canyon Randall show.  Don’t get me wrong there where some other schools with big wins.  They just seemed to have the most.  Most of the brackets are round robin so I will just recap the 1st vs 2nd place match. So lets dive in.

100 (6 Women Round Robin)

#6 Zurri Zamora (Amarillo Tascosa) Jr.
Fall 3:55
#7 Jamiyah Blount Taylor (Amarillo) Sr.

Blount -Taylor gets the opening takedown and a nice ride for about a minute.  Zamora gets reversal to end 1st.  Zamora takes down gets escape, takedown.  Blount-Taylor gets escape but Zamora gets another takedown and pin in the waning seconds of the 2nd.

107 (4 Women Round Robin)

NR Felicity Tarango (Lubbock Estacado)
Fall 0:39
NR Adreah Ozuna (Hereford)

Tarango made quick work of two of her opponents and won the last by INJ.  She has a 1st place in a previous tournament where she avenged a loss from earlier in the season.  I think she should be ranked but it is hard to say without some more competition.  Would like to see her against #9 Taylor Keith or #19 Nariaha Nembiana-Lopez both are in her area.  Someone let me know if either of those match-up happen.
