Power Beach Bash Wrestling

The Power Wrestling Club hosted the first ever beach wrestling event this past weekend. The event was hosted by Bryan Kenney (Plano East) and Ryan DeLaVergne (Princeton), the two head coaches of Power Wrestling at the Sports Garden in Coppell.  Sand volleyball pits were transformed into sand wrestling circles for the competitors. The Beach Bash attracted 50 wrestlers and another 30 or so wrestling spectators. The venue sported a full bar and food; inside there was pool, shuffleboard, darts, and 3 foot high jenga and connect four. Outside there was music and axe throwing lanes to keep spectators entertained while seated in a covered balcony overlooking the wrestling pits.
Fans and competitors alike could not have asked for better weather, overall the event was a huge success. With everyone asking when the next beach wrestling tournament would be, the coaches decided Power Wrestling would host another event at the same location in September.
