As always each week teams from around the state travel to out of state tournaments. This past weekend was big for traveling teams in High School and Clubs
Allen Wrestling Team traveled to the Owasso Duals in Owasso Oklahoma (Tulsa) where they wrestled for 2 days and basically ran through all the competition including the #3 in the state Mustang High @ 6A from Oklahoma. Allen gears up for their district duals these coming weekend then for the Biggest Dual Event in Texas on Jan 29th the Trip-Dual with Broken Arrow, and Arlington Martin.
El Paso Franklin a team that has been hit with injuries and illness took a partial team to the Top of the Rockies Tournament in Lafayette Colorado (Denver) and only took 24th as a team but Kobe Nelms and Kaleb Jewett placed 4th in their 32 man bracket filled with Colorado state placers and some nationally ranked wrestlers. Christian Martinez was 1 away from the blood round.
The Dumas Wrestling Team along with The Boys Ranch Team traveled to Trinidad Colorado to compete in the Gene Gagliardi Invitational where Dumas comes away with the team tournament win. Dumas had 7 in the finals and came away with 5 champions and 12 placers in all. Boys Ranch had 2 placers.
