After a rough start to the day only 5 of the 19 wrestler in the cadet and junior division will wrestle tomorrow and have secured an All American status. 3 wrestlers all from Best Trained have made the semi finals, Nathan Dooley @ 182 and AJ Ferrari @ 195 both in the junior division as well as Chris Island @ 220 in the cadet division.
Nathan Dooley of Best Trained wrestling @ 182 junior division looked like he was done for in the 2nd round wrestling tomake the quarter finals losing 10-0 when he was able to flip his guy to their back and got the fall in the 2nd period and then winning a close decision of 9-7 to make the semi finals where he will face Jack Jessen of Illnois
AJ Ferrari wrestling for Best Trained @ 195 junior division is doing what is expected, a bye in the first round, fall in the 2nd followed by 2 tech falls only giving up one point in the 3 matches and that point was an escape Ferrari allowed to happen. Ferrari will be tested Friday when he goes against Garrett Joles ranked 5th Nationally to Ferrari’s 3rd rank status in Intermatwrestle.com. Joles is a 2x and undefeated Wisconsin State Champ.
Chris Island wrestling for Best Trained as well @ 220 cadet division has only wrestled one match to make the semi finals but did so convincingly by pinning opponent in 1.03 minutes. Island will have Lucas Walker in the semi finals from Waverly Area wrestling.
Trent Dooley wrestling for Best Trained who weighed in at 138.2 and had to wrestle 145 ran into the #3 Nationally ranked wrestler in the 2nd round causing him to go to the consolation side where he has wrestled back to the consolation quarters to secure an All American spot.
Cameron Haddock wrestling for Lone Star Elite @ 152 went through his first 2 opponents quickly beating them by fall, then beat a Wisconsin State champ before running into the Utah State Champ where he wasn’t as successful losing in the quarter finals. Haddock has wrestled back through the consolation side into the quarter finals to secure himself an All American Spot
