New for 2017 – Statewide Coaches' Poll & New Photo Site

With the opening of the UIL wrestling season this week, WT will be posting our first ever statewide coaches’ poll results for individual rankings. Dozens of coaches, from all four regions, will be participating in the weekly poll, voting for the top 15 boys and girls in each weight class for both 5A and 6A schools.  Top 20 rankings and poll points will be posted every Wednesday.  In certain cases, where a head to head match-up has occurred that would swap positions, the WT editorial staff (ie, Ray) may manually adjust individual rankings, but coaches’ poll scores will still be displayed.
Additionally, we have launched our new photo pages for the 2017 season at wrestlingtexas.photo, permanently retiring the old SmugMug site.  Most old photos are still available for purchase in the archives section, for a limited time.  Also new this year, we will offer free downloads at most events, as well as value-priced $1.99 “Social Media” images – 450pixel jpegs that are perfect for twitter, instagram, facebook and other portable device apps. We encourage all wrestlers and fans to support WrestlingTexas by purchasing your favorite photos and please do not copy and share watermarked, copyrighted images.
