McKee of Texas Wesleyan University OCU Champion, 5 Others Place

The OCU Open in Oklahoma City which is filled with random D1 thur NCWA teams was filled this year with Texas wrestlers. For many this was their first collegiate wrestling appearance in a tournament.  There was 2 divisions an Open and Freshman/Sophomore Division.   5 Texas teams Wayland Baptist University, Schreiner University, University of Houston DT, UT Arlington and Texas Wesleyan University were all in attendance.  Other teams like Oklahoma State University had Daniel Manibog and Connor Wilson.  North Eastern Oklahoma had Michael Kumlein and Nate Dooley.  Ouachita Baptist of Arkansas had Adrian Salazar-Rivera and Johnny Green.  Wrestling unattached for Little Rock was Tyler Brennan, Cody Mirander, Trent Dooley, and Tristan Tadeo.  Clay Vincent was with Oklahoma University in the Open division to name a few.

Augustus Boyd w/OBU of Klein Oak places 3rd in the Open Division.

All the 6 placers below were in the Freshman/Sophomore division

Daniel Manibog w/OSU of Katy made it to the semi finals where he took his first loss and came back for a 3rd place finish @ 149 F/S.

Kye Fahrenbacher w/WBU of Wylie East met Adrian Salazar-Riveria w/OBU of Ft Worth Chisholm Trail in the 3rd place match and Fahrenbacher got the decision  6-1 @ 157 F/S

Thomas Tolbert w/New Mexico Highlands of Leander Rouse took a 4th place finish.

Kobe Nelms w/TWU of Franklin took a 4th place finish @ 133 F/S

Dracius McKee of TWU was the lone Texas Champion @ 174 F/S albeit he is a transfer from Oregon State University via California. McKee had 3 decisions and a fall on his route to champion.

On special Note.  Texas Wesleyan University In their 1st tournament of their existence takes 7th out of 43 teams with the best winning percentage and best total match points.  They beat 3 D1 teams in the process.  TWU did this with only 12 wrestlers completing.
