Texas put another wrestler into Final X as Lexie Basham made the finals of the World Team Trials Tournament this past weekend in Coralville, Iowa.
Basham, who won the 130-pound NAIA National tournament in March for Texas Wesleyan, came in as the #4 seed here at 59 KG.
She edged Niya Gaines 12-8 in her first match before beating the #1 seed Nanea Estrella 5-3 in the semifinals.
This sets up a best of three final with Abigail Nette of the Army WCAP program on June 3rd in Stillwater.
In her post-match, she was very emotional about her Coach Ray Bedford’s recent firing at Texas Wesleyan.
