Leander Rouse Secures Victory in Highly Contested District 13-5A Boys Wrestling Tournament

The District 13-5A Boys Wrestling Tournament at the Delco in Austin was a fiercely contested event, with Leander Rouse emerging as the top-performing team, clinching victory with a total team score of 228.0 points. The competition was exceptionally close, highlighting the talent and determination of the participating schools. 

Leander followed closely in the second position, accumulating a total of 225.0 points. The battle for supremacy continued with Leander Glenn securing the third spot, just one point behind, with a total team score of 224.0 points. 

Cedar Park showcased their strength and resilience, securing the fourth position with a total of 205.0 points. Austin Crockett rounded up the top five teams with a total score of 90.0 points. 

The intense rivalry and high level of competition among these schools added to the excitement of the tournament, showcasing the depth of talent in the District 13-5A Boys Wrestling category. Congratulations to Leander Rouse for their impressive performance, and commendations to all participating teams for their dedication and sportsmanship on the mat. 

In the 106-pound weight class, the District 13-5A wrestling tournament showcased thrilling matches that determined the top contenders. Nathan Reilly of Cedar Park claimed the 1st place title by defeating Weston Smith of Leander Rouse with a fall in 1 minute and 22 seconds. In the closely contested 3rd place match, William Weibel of Leander secured victory over Omar Lopez of Austin McCallum with a fall in 1 minute and 21 seconds. 

Moving on to the 113-pound weight class, Trenton Niece of Leander Glenn emerged victorious in the 1st place match, defeating Michael Dawson Embry of Leander with a fall in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. In the 3rd place match, Chuck Stevens of Leander Rouse outperformed Cole Henderson of Cedar Park, securing a decisive win with a 12-6 decision. The 5th place match witnessed Samuel Summers of Liberty Hill pinning Akram Khan of Austin Travis in 4 minutes and 27 seconds.
