Kayani Ayala is a very humble and hard working student who is very passionate about the sport of wrestling. She is the Captain of the Burges High School Lady Mustangs Wrestling team who this year won the 1-5A District Championship with the help of Kayani’s 4th individual District Title. Kayani began her Vision Quest to becoming a State Champion last year when she reached the podium but fell short of her goal placing 4th at the 2019 UIL Texas State Tournament. Right after the end of that season she set her goal of becoming a State Champion, went straight to work, and never looked back. Last summer she competed at Texas State Freestyle and Greco Tournament and ended up placing 2nd in both styles. This only added fuel to the fire. This season Kayani dominated the competition with a record of 41-2 with 41 of her wins coming by pin!! Her only 2 losses were at the 165 lbs weight class. She is the perfect example of finding success through hard work and dedication. Kayani wishes to go on to wrestle at the college level as she works on earning a degree in social work. She is still undecided on where she will be attending college. Kayani Ayala definitely has all the skills, knowledge, and qualities of becoming a very successful person.
