Katy Area Wrestling Club Coach Cody Greene has Passed Away

Sad news out of Katy as Advanced Club Wrestling Coach Cody Greene has passed away.

Just received terrible news that my dear friend, Cody Greene, perished last night in a single car accident in Texas! Cody was the first state wrestling champ at Seckman high, wrestled at Mizzou, then returned to coach Seckman for many years. Prayers and thoughts!

Green, who wrestled collegiately and in high school in Missouri had been working and living in Texas and coaching in the Katy area.

A gofundme has been set up to raise funds for his daughter’s college.

“We are saddened to share that Cody Greene passed away unexpectedly on 9/5/21.   Cody was such a vibrant and intelligent young man.   He was an avid wrestler who shared his love of the sport with his friends and the community.   He cared deeply for his family and was taken away from them too soon.   He left behind a beautiful daughter, Eliana “Ellie” Greene, and his wife, Heather, who need our support during this difficult time.

Funds raised will go towards a college fund for Ellie, as this is something the family feels Cody would have wanted for his daughter.”
