Karson Tompkins, 4th Place All-American

Fargo Day 5

The lone Texas wrestler Karson Tompkins of Midlothian High School takes a 4th place finish to end his national freestyle tournament this year at the Junior National Championships in Fargo.  Texas with the lone placer is tied with Team Utah for 21st place out of the 47 states and 1 Territory with 12 team points.

We go through Tompkins matches today to tell you how he got there.

Tompkins first match in the semifinals this morning was against #10 nationally ranked Jersey Robb from Bixby Oklahoma. In an earlier article I had mentioned that I thought Tompkins got some bad calls in his National Duals match against Robb previously.  Well today on even ground the Oklahoma wrestler proved why he was ranked higher as Robb went on an 11-0 run in the first period to Tompkins his first loss of the tournament.
