Jordan Suarez is Mortgage X-Change Wrestler of the Week

Jordan Suarez is Mortgage X-Change Wrestler of the Week.  It took 3 years for Suarez to reach her pinnacle by beating the former #1 ranked wrestler at her weight.  2 years in a row Suarez had to settle for 2nd place in the UIL 6A-138 State finals.  This year Suarez met her nemesis in the state semi finals and things went her way this time winning by decision spring boarding her into the state finals match which she won handily with a fall in the 2nd period.

Words from Coach Balser
Jordan finished her year as State Champion with a 44-1 record, her only loss coming at the hands of an illegal slam call at the Texas Womens Classic in Lewisville.  She led the team in takedowns and tied with fellow senior Desiree Briggs for most Pins in a season. She finished her career at Morton Ranch as the leader in most career wins (179) and most career pins (124).  She also led the team with 3 of her 4 years and she was named as a Academic All District for all 4 years.  She finishes her high school career with a 179- 20 record, a state alternate as freshman, state runner up as sophomore and junior and state champion as a senior.  She will continue her career at Wayland Baptist University in the fall under head coach Aaron Meister.

Congratulations to Jordan Suarez
